- gta 4 (~600h... roman, never hurt anyone...)
- cyberpunk 2077 (~400h and worth every frame. even at 12 fps when i was on 1050 ti, i used between 2019-2021!)

A: omg where do i even start... security is literally NON-EXISTENT! my account got stolen through windows (and don't even get me started on discord's toxic community...), and even big tech people like linus tech tips got hacked through basic pdf-looking malware!! like... how is this acceptable in 2025??

and the pricing?? RIDICULOUS! you could buy cyberpunk 2077 ultimate edition AND still have money left for pizza!! that's just crazy!! (mmm pizza... yum!)

plus windows 11 is actively trying to block linux installations... not cool microsoft, NOT COOL! between the random bluescreens (seriously, how does changing a wallpaper crash the system??), 30-minute boot times, and constant security issues... it was just too much!!

that's ONE of the big reasons why nebios exists - to give people a BETTER choice!!

everyone deserves better than this!! try linux, experience actual freedom... but like, no pressure!! just know there are better options out there!! :3

almost every computer in stores comes pre-installed with windows. you think you’re “making a choice,” but the reality is, there’s only one choice left for you: to use windows. with every computer you buy, you’re paying for something you’ve never thought about: the windows license. this costs around 6,000-9,000 TRY in turkey (or 120-200 USD globally)! think about it – what else could you do with that money?what’s even worse is what you get in return: a bunch of security vulnerabilities, an invasion of your privacy, and a restricted user experience…

windows and security scandals: your computer, their playground

windows has a dreadful history filled with horrifying security stories. remember the wannacry attack in 2017? windows computers worldwide were locked and users were asked for ransom. but the problem doesn’t stop there:* in 2023, linus tech tips' youtube channel got hacked via a windows computer (similar incidents have also happened in turkey with names like ruhi çenet and pintipanda)

you might say, "but i love gaming." you should know that big gaming companies like rockstar games, riot games, epic games, and electronic arts are on the same side as microsoft. they actively work to make gaming on linux harder. especially riot games' anti-cheat system for valorant makes playing it on linux impossible – it's basically linux's enemy.but don’t worry! there are alternatives:* instead of gta 6, consider cyberpunk 2077, the upcoming sequel games of cdpr, like orion and witcher 4
* instead of valorant, try counter strike
* instead of lol, try dota 2
* for fortnite? forget about it, focus on story-driven gamesstory-driven games offer much better experiences anyway. but the main point here is not about gaming, it’s about freedom!

the key to freedom: switching to linux alternatives

the good news is that there are ways to escape the windows trap, and it’s not as hard as it seems! here are some linux alternatives:* nebios: a perfect operating system for those wanting to transition from windows, offering a familiar yet freer experience. it's not a windows clone, but has original design inspired by various operating systems.* ubuntu: one of the most popular and user-friendly distributions in the linux world* linux mint: a super easy experience, especially for beginners* pop os: a great option focusing on gamers and creators(i don’t recommend arch linux though, it's like giving a formula 1 car to someone who's just got their driver's license – great for advanced users, but not ideal for beginners)if you prefer a windows-like interface, you can go for distros using the kde desktop (like kubuntu).

tips to avoid falling into the trap in the future

if you're buying a new computer:1. research companies that produce free hardware (like system76)
2. prefer computers with freedos or linux pre-installed (you can filter on e-commerce sites)
3. some people prefer to use cracked windows – though illegal, it can be seen as a "digital protest"
4. the best option is simply not to use windows at all! :D
